Why use a home EEG device?
Consumer EEG headbands like the Muse S make it possible to track your brain state from your living room. These devices measure electrical activity across the scalp and report power in five standard frequency bands: Delta, Theta, Alpha, Beta, and Gamma. When combined with OSNeuro, those bands become part of your longitudinal brain model — not isolated snapshots.
OSNeuro is designed for personal wellness and cognitive performance optimization, not medical diagnosis. A home EEG device gives you richer signal density than wearable proxies alone, so you can see how focus, calm, and cognitive load shift across days and weeks.
Supported devices
OSNeuro currently integrates with consumer EEG headsets through the same ingestion pipeline we use for wearables and behavioral signals. The most commonly connected home EEG device is the Muse S headband, which streams frontal lobe activity and reports band powers via its SDK and partner integrations.
- Muse S — frontal EEG, sleep-friendly design, Alpha/Beta/Theta/Gamma band export.
- Other consumer headsets — any device that can export raw or band-power EEG data can be ingested through the OSNeuro ingestion pipeline.
How OSNeuro processes raw EEG bands
OSNeuro does not just display raw microvolt readings. We normalize each session against your personal baseline and fuse EEG with HRV, sleep, activity, and behavioral context. The five bands map to different cognitive states:
Deep relaxation and restorative states
Light meditation, creativity, drowsiness
Calm, idle wakefulness, readiness
Active thinking, focus, cognitive load
High-level processing, memory binding
From these bands we compute session-level metrics like a Focus Index and Calm Index, then feed them into your longitudinal models.
From EEG to Brain Score
The Brain Score is a composite index that weights your latest EEG session, HRV-derived recovery, sleep debt, and stress proxies into a single 0–100 score. EEG contributes through:
- Alpha coherence relative to your 14-day baseline.
- Beta power trends that indicate sustained cognitive load.
- Gamma bursts tied to high-intensity processing windows.
- Theta/delta ratios that flag mental fatigue or deep recovery.
Each reading is timestamped, normalized, and stored as a time-series so your score can be compared across sessions, not just within one session.
Building your NeuroTwin Digital Twin
NeuroTwin is OSNeuro's personalized longitudinal model. It learns your baseline across weeks of EEG, sleep, HRV, and behavior data, then predicts trajectories for focus, fatigue, burnout risk, and sleep quality.
EEG bands are one of six input modalities fused into the NeuroTwin — alongside Physio, EEG, Behavior, Voice, Context, and Cognition. The model updates continuously as new sessions arrive, so its predictions become more specific to you over time.
Privacy and data ownership
Your EEG data is health-adjacent and treated as sensitive. OSNeuro encrypts data in transit and at rest, scopes every record to your account with row-level security, and does not sell or share your data for advertising. You can revoke device access, export your data, or delete your account from the Privacy Center at any time.
Start monitoring your brain at home
Ready to connect a Muse S or another EEG device? Sign in to OSNeuro, open the Devices panel, and authorize your EEG source. Once sessions are flowing, your Brain Score and NeuroTwin will begin reflecting your real brain-state signal.
